Lakes Region Info
Of course the best way to learn about the Lakes Region is to visit our corner of New Hampshire in person. The four season beauty of the Lakes Region of New Hampshire is unsurpassed anywhere.
Summer brings hiking, boating, swimming, antiquing, and concerts, such as Meadowbrook in Gilford, The Great Waters Music Festival, and Heifetz International Music Institute both in Wolfeboro, and this is just the beginning of what will fill your activities list.
Fall is our most spectacular season for its breathtaking beauty drawing people from all over the world. Check out our Lakes Region listings with foliage potential, maybe it’s time to enjoy some color up close.
Winter brings exciting times for us who live here from ice fishing, snowmobiling, or carving turns down the many beautifully groomed ski slopes at ski areas such as Gunstock in Gilford.
Spring brings a rebirth to the Lakes Region with the first run of maple syrup from sugar maples in Sandwich, Tuftonboro and the surrounding towns. From the towns of Moultonborough, and Center Harbor at the northern tip of Lake Winnipesaukee to the town of Alton at the southern tip of the lake, the apple blossoms, lilacs, and cherry trees bloom with the advent of warm days.
